Time Flies...........

I can't believe how fast time goes. Caleb is just about 3 months old already. He is getting to be so much fun!!! This picture is one of my favorites of me and the little man. I was given this toy car as a gift when I was born (they must have thought I was going to be a tom boy.
Hee Hee) and for x-mas grandpa (my dad) gave it to Caleb for a gift. How special that my dad kept it for all these years. I know Caleb is going to love it.

Josh and I spent pretty much the entire weekend in our spare bedroom which we are turning into an office/playroom for the little guy. It's been a project that has been on the "to do" list since we moved into our house a year ago but it just always looked to overwhelming to tackle and once we finally did we were determined to get it done. Most of the time was spent going through old files and weeding through the stuff that was forever old and organizing our current bills and other things to be filed away. We almost got it completed and the room looks enormous with all of the junk moved out of there. Josh put together the toybox we bought Caleb with the money he got from my grandma Edith for x-mas. It looks great in his playroom and will always be a special gift since it's from his great grandma who is no longer with us.

Josh starts a new job tomorrow and is pretty excited about that. It will be a good and much needed change for him. I return to work on Wednesday and am having very mixed feelings about all that. I think it's going to be a hard transition to have Caleb in daycare and not with me all day. But, starting in early April I have worked it out with my job to have Wednesday's off and then I work short days both Thurday's and Friday's so that's going to be nice. I think I will really like my new schedule once that starts.

I gotta run and check out the little man. His dad is singing to him and he's laughing histerically. Must be that great voice dad has. Ha Ha!!!

Hope you all had a great weekend and I'll update again soon.

Daddy Time.......

We had a nice weekend and Caleb got to spend some quality time with Dad. Friday night we hung out at home and made homemade pizza (YUM!!!) and watched a couple episodes of lost. We are still only on season 2 trying to get caught up so we can start watching season 3 which we've been TIVO'ing since it started in the fall.

Yesterday we went and met my sister and her husband to see a model home in Hudson that they put an offer on. They found out today that they got the house so hurray for them. Congrats guys!!! It's a beautiful home and they are so excited about it and we are so excited that they will be closer to us again. Last night I went out for a much needed girls night out and Caleb got to spend time with daddy. He adores his dad so it's nice when he gets to spend some alone time with him away from mom. I went with a friend to Stillwater where we started off at some restaurant and met some other people and had some hordeovers and a couple cocktails. We had the best cajun BBQ shrimp and I had a bowl of spicy baked potato soup. I also enjoyed a fabulous chocolate martini and one of my favorites.......dreamsicle. The bartender even squeezed the orange juice fresh from the orange. It was fantastic!!!!!!! Then we went over to the crab shack to listen to the band "Rags". It was a bit too loud and too smokey in that place for me so we didn't stay too long there. It was nice to just get out and away from the house for a while but going out definately isn't the same anymore. I was sitting there thinking of my little guy, missing him and wanting to get home to see him even though I knew he was asleep. I couldn't wait just to peak my head in his room and see him all swaddled up resting so peacefully.

Today, Josh took Caleb over to his parents to visit his dad. He had a hip replacement a couple weeks ago now and is home recovering from that. I decided to stay home and get some things done around the house. It's so much easier when nobody else is here to distract me. So on that note........I suppose I should end this and try to get a few more things done as my boys will probably be home shortly.
See ya, Erin

Sweet Sleeping..........

Our little man has slept through the night for the past 2 nights now. I'm not sure that I'm going to get my hopes up that it's going to continue but at least I feel like we are on the track to getting somewhat of a normal evening schedule down before I return to work. Now I just have to work on his daytime schedule. He pretty much doesn't have one and hopefully that's not going to be a problem at daycare. I can't ever get him to nap in his crib during the day and he kinda just falls asleep on and off throughout the day either in his bouncy seat, on the floor on his tummy or over his boppy. He still loves to be swaddled at night and that's how he sleeps the best. He just looks so funny and helpless all wrapped up like a burrito. Somehow the kid manages to wiggle his way down to the other end of his crib every night. I look forward to the mornings when I get to go and get him up. He now just glares at me with his big blue eyes and gives me the biggest smile ever. What a way to start your day!!!!

I'm taking Caleb over to Grandma and Grandpa's today and I'm going to get a massage. Can't wait for that. Then Josh and I have dinner reservations at Mama Maria's tonight (Yummy Italian restaurant). Can't wait for that either.

Have a great Valentines Day!!!

It's so hard to say goodbye

It was another tough day as we said our final farewell to my grandma at her funeral. It was a very nice service and lots of people came to show their respects. Look how cute our little man looked. He just looked so grown up to me today in his little outfit. He is changing so fast. He has many more happy moments during the day now and that makes things so much more fun. It's just amazing how that smile can brighten your day!!!

We finally got some good news last week......Josh got offered a new job with a new company and will be starting that in a couple weeks so we are excited about that change.

Other than that......we are all finally getting over our sicknesses (Josh did end up coming down with that bug we had over the weekend) and hopefully we will have some good days coming up here.

Time to go get the little guy down to bed.

Thanks for checking in with us, Erin

Sad Day.........

Well, it's been quite the past week that's for sure. On the note of Caleb and I not feeling well things are getting better there so we are thankful that's turning around anyway. Now we just have Daddy coming down with a cold but hopefully he will shake that quickly and neither of us will get that.
We got the phone call early this AM that Caleb's Great Grandma Nelson passed away this morning (my grandma Edith for those of you that have met her). She has been in and out of the hospital over the past month or so and then took a turn for the worst a week ago now when she ended up at United Hospital. Finally, earlier this week they transferred her back to Baldwin to the nursing home where she spent her last few days. Going there to visit her over the past days and watching her go through what she did was one of the hardest things I've ever done but it also put life into perspective. Here I was holding the hand of my 89 year old grandma who has lived an incredible life and saying goodbye to her and then I look at my little boy and see what an incredible life he has just begun. I don't know.....something about it all just amazed me. Life is sure a precious thing and what a miracle our little guy is in ours right now. I'm just so grateful that my grandma got the chance to meet Caleb and in the short time she knew him, she thought the absolute world of him. She was quite an amazing woman!!!!!!
Til next time, Erin

Finally.....here we are

Hello all!! I've finally decided to start bloggin' on this site that my wonderful friend Jeny has set up for us. She set it up back in November soemtime before Caleb even arrived and it was my intention to start it then but you can see that didn't happen. We finally got our technology updated here at home and bought an awesome new computer and got high speed internet as well. So now I should be able to roll with this thing.

It's hard to believe our little man is already 9 weeks old. He had his 2 month check up last week and he weighed in at a whoppin' 9 pounds 3 ounces (it still amazes me that women push kids out that big. OUCH!!! 5 pounds 4 ounces was plenty for me.) I can't believe he's almost doubled in weight in just 2 months. CRAZY!! My maternity leave is already coming to an end at the end of this month and I feel like we are still getting to really know one another and he's now starting to do some fun things.

His favorite right now is getting his diaper changed which he just smiles and coo's the entire time. It's weird cuz he use to hate diaper changing time and would just scream the whole time. Bathtime has also become a favorite where before he hated that too. He also loves his tummy time which has been a life saver for us because when he's really fussy, all we usually need to do is get him on his tummy and he'll calm down. One of my favorites is hanging him over the front of his boppy where he will usually hang out for a couple hours and be content as ever. We try and do tummy time about 5 hours a day which has helped to develope his neck strength tremendously.

This past weekend has been quite a hectic one........I've been sick with some nasty flu like bug and Caleb has had bad diarrehea since he got the rotavirus vaccine last week. (My friend warned me to stay away from that one but I didn't listen) Needless to say.......they are suppose to get it at 2, 4 and 6 months and he will not be getting that one again. We were in babies-r-us a couple days after his appointment and there was a gal in the room changing her son and the first thing she said to me when we walked in was whatever you do, don't let them give your kid the rotavirus vaccine. I said "great, my son just got it 2 days ago". She said her son had been sick for the past 8 days since he got it. (now what she was doing out and about in a kids store with him is still beyond me but anyway) She told me the vaccine is a live virus and very contagious. Well what do ya know, just as I was sitting there feeding Caleb it all started and has been going on since. Now, I'm wondering if that's what I've got too. I've had the same symptoms plus the vomiting and fever too. So fun to have and try and take care of a baby at the same time. Boy things just aren't the same as they use to be. So, the past weekend has pretty much been miserable.

On that note......I need to end my first blog and go tend to my fussy baby. Keep checking in for updates and fun photos from the Klinger household.

Take care, Erin
