Holiday Fun!!!

Once again, I'm slow at getting the site updated about our holidays. As you can see, Caleb wasn't too fond of Santa this year. Caleb's first visit with Santa when he was just about 3 weeks old was great as he slept in his arms and we were able to get some great pictures. Not the case this past year. He has quickly developed anxiety around strangers and when mommy and daddy leave him. It's actually quite sad to see but I know it's normal. But then also nice to know how much he wants us with him.
We had a very nice holiday as Josh and I both had over a week off and it was wonderful to be able to spend time as a family and just do some relaxing. On Christmas Eve we went to my aunt and uncles and had a nice dinner and got to see some family that we haven't seen since last x-mas so that was nice. X-mas morning we opened gifts at our house until Caleb got a bit overwhelmed and had about enough and then we headed over to my parents house for the rest of the day where we opened present most of the day and had my moms fabulous traditional Italian meal of champaigne chicken and canaloni. YUM!!! Christmas is my favorite day of the whole year. I've always enjoyed it so much. The day after x-mas we just stayed home and played with Caleb and all his new gifts and just relaxed and opened more presents that he had left. He got so much stuff it's crazy. Where do you parents put all this stuff? My child is just a year old and we are already running out of room to put stuff. EEKS!! On friday of that week we headed over to Josh's mom and dads to stay for a couple days as my sister and brother in law were home from Pheonix so we were able
to spend a few days with them so that's always great to see those guys. We had x-mas there on Saturday and opened even more gifts. I tell ya, it was just never ending for almost the entire week. New Years was also a ton of fun. We went out to dinner with my family and then my mom and dad took Caleb overnight so Josh and I were able to go out with his brother and wife. We had so much fun but I was definately hurtin' the next day. Too much to drink and out way too late. Reminded me why I don't do that anymore. It's just not the same when you have a kid to take care of the next day. Josh went back to work the day after New Years and I didn't have to go back until the 3rd but it was tough after being off that long and Caleb had a hard time being left at daycare after being with us nonstop for that many days in a row. Now I'm back in the groove of things at work and looking forward to another year full of great moments to cherish with this little guy. He's doing something new everyday. Talking more and walking all over the place. He's got quite the personality.

Happy New Year to everyone and we'll talk to you soon,
Erin
