Travelin' Man

Well we traveled to Iowa this past weekend for Josh's first softball tournament of the year and Caleb's first softball tourney ever. It was a fun weekend and Caleb actually did really good considering he was completely taken out of his routine for a couple days. My in-laws came with also so that was a HUGE help (thanks Grandma Jean and Grandpa Porky). We got on the road a little later than we hoped on Friday night and had to stop 3 time in the first hour and a half or so due to someone being wet, hungry and then wet and dirty. At that point I was really dreading the fact that we had another 3 hours to go but little man finally decided to fall asleep for a while and didn't wake up until right before we arrived at the hotel. Then he was wide awake, so it took some time with Grandma to calm him down and finally to sleep he went after midnight. He slept amazingly well in his pack-n-play. In fact, he slept so well I had to get up 3 times during the night just to make sure he was still with us cuz I didn't even hear a peep out of him.
There was a guy that Josh plays ball with that also brought his little guy who is about 3 weeks younger than Caleb so it was fun to see the two of them together. Strange thing though.......they looked sooooooooo much alike it was actually kind of freaky. This little guy was born 3 weeks after Caleb, came 2 weeks early, weighed more than Caleb and currently weighs 2 pounds more than Caleb. I guess our little man is truely a "little man". He definately is getting bigger though and putting on weight. We have another weight check in a couple weeks so we will see where he's at then. He is getting so strong. He can now roll like a log and has a blast doing it. He loves laying on his tummy to look at the world. He has also started to show interest in his toys by grabbing them and putting just about everything in his mouth.
We finally left Iowa late Sunday night after the boys played a few games and took first place in the tourney so that made it all well worth it but it was a long ride home and once again Caleb didn't get to bed until after midnight. I had yesterday off to stay home with him and we didn't get any of our errands done because he pretty much slept all day long. He needed it though so that's alright.
Tomorrow should be interesting as I have both Miles and Caleb since their daycare lady is on vacation. So wish me luck. We have swimming lesson #3 which is going really well. Caleb is a little fish. He just loves the water and his new thing last week was blowing bubbles in the water. It was too cute!!!
Hope all is well with everyone.

Water Baby

Well Caleb and I started swimming lessons with a friend of mine and her daughter. It was so much fun and he really enjoyed it. The pool was heated so that helped. Our class only has 3 in it so it's kinda nice to have it smaller. The first day was mostly concentrated on the babies getting use to the water and it didn't take Caleb too long to do that. He even went all the way under the water and did alright with that. He's on this blowing bubbles kick and he was trying to do that in the water. Too funny. Then the instructor had us put them on the side of the pool and count to 3 like they were going to jump into the water and then had us pull them in on "3". After a couple times of that he was leaning in toward me on "3" and falling into my arms. I'm so glad he enjoyed it and look forward to the next class.

More soon.........Erin

Little Squirt

Our little man is literally a "little squirt". He had his 4 month check up on Wednesday with shots and all. He weighed in at 11 pounds 14 ounces. I can't believe this little guy is 4 months old and doesn't even weigh 12 pounds. Women deliver babies almost his size. Amazing!! He measured 24 inches long so he seems to be growing long more than wide. I had to get a chickenpox vaccine first since I never had them, so Caleb held my hand while I got mine and then I held his hand and talked in his ear as he got 3 of them. So sad, it made me cry too. He just screamed and looked at me with the sad teary eyes like "why are you doing this to me?" If they could only understand. So anyway..... his doctor seemed just a little concerned that he is still so small so we started him on vitamins (which he absolutely hates) and I've got to bring him back in one month for another weight check and we will see where he's at at that time. It's not like this baby has got huge parents so maybe he's just gonna be a little guy. He sure is cute as a petite little thing. As long as he's healthy that's all that matters to me.

I started my part time hours this week so we had our first Wednesday together. Not that it was too much fun as we had to start it off by going to the doctor and getting shots. Then we went to visit a friend of mine who just had a baby a few weeks ago and then we headed to the nursing home to spend some time with my grandpa for his birthday. We had a busy day and Caleb crashed when we got home. He had kinda a rough night last night. I'm not sure if his legs were sore or he was just hungry or what. He woke up at 3:00 just screaming and I tried changing his pants and rock him back to sleep but that didn't work so I had to get up and feed him. I haven't had to get up in the middle of the night to feed him since he was about 2 months old. Even then it still took him a while to fall back asleep. But he was happy as a clam this morning so hopefully all is good. Next week we start swimming lessons and I'm looking forward to that with him. I think we will have fun.

Have a great weekend. More next week.

Bunny Love

Ok, so it's been a while. So much for updating each week. Last weekend was a busy one. Friday night Caleb spent the night at my mom and dads and Josh and I went to a banquet for his officiating. It was a good time but especially nice to come home and be able to go to bed without turning the monitor on next to my head and listen for the little man all night. I was worried that he was going to get up at 4:00am for my mom like he had been f0r us a few times last week. He was going through a growth spurt I think or else he was just cold since we weren't swaddling him. Anyway......he did really well and only woke up a couple times to talk himself back to sleep and then wake up for the day at 7:15. Maybe he should stay at grandma and grandpas more often. Saturday morning we were suppose to go on an Easter egg hunt with my sister and Miles but the weather was so icky that it got canceled so we went for coffee instead. Caleb has taken a liking to coffee shops since we frequent them often. Then we went to a birthday party in the afternoon for a family relative. Sunday we went to church and then went to the mall to visit the Easter bunny. Wasn't he a good bunny? What do ya know, right before we were ready to go see the Easter bunny Caleb filled his pants and it was all the way up his back and all the way through his onsie and working on coming through his pants. I insisted he had his picture taken in his cute little outfit so we had to hurry to the bunny and get it done before he seeped all the way through. Sorry Mr. Bunny if you had discolored fur on your leg the rest of the day. Caleb was so cute, he wasn't quite sure what to think. He was so amazed at everything around him we couldn't even get him to look at the camera but finally he did just in time to take one quick picture. It was a fun day!!!

This week he has been working so hard at rolling over. He is so close and gets incredibley frustrated when he can't do it and gets stuck. He still just seems too small to be doing that. It's kinda sad and cute at the same time.

Next week I start my new hours at work and I'm so pumped to have a day off with him. I signed him up for swimming lessons and we are going to start those in a couple of weeks with my friend Susan and her daughter Sidnie. I think it will be a blast. (Hopefully)

That's all for now. Wishing everyone a good Easter. We will be busy as we try to go to church and make it to both our families.
