No Better Way To Start The Day

I've always said there's no better way to start the day off than going into your little ones room and having them greet you with a huge smile. It's impossible to start the day off on a bad foot with a greeting like that. It's my favorite time of day when I go into Calebs room each morning to get him up. He's always so happy and giddy. He definately didn't get that from his mommy cuz I've never been a morning person, but it's hard not to be now. I just look so forward to seeing that precious smile each morning. The picture above is one of my favorites. Josh stood him up in his crib one morning just to see how he would do and what do ya know.....he actually hung on and just stood there lookin' all cute. He's so strong!!! He is still working on sitting up and is getting much better at it. It won't be long and he will be independent with that. Just a few days ago he started getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth so I don't think it's going to be long before he's crawling either. His little knees are so red and sore looking from rockin' around on them. I guess they've got to get toughened up.

Here's the typical reaction I get every morning when I go in to get the little bean up. How cute is that? Gotta love it!!!
We have our last day of swimming classes tomorrow already and they are going to open the water slides up for us to go down if we would like to. That could be interesting should I choose to take him down. He would probably love it. He has now learned to like being dunked completely under the water and just laughs and shakes his head when he comes up. He's finally getting the idea of kicking his legs when I hold him on his tummy and he is starting to lunge forward at me when I sit him up on the side of the pool and count to 3. It's so amazing how smart these little ones are. It's been a great experience taking lessons with him but I think we are going to take the next session off so we can do some other fun things this summer too and then we will sign back up again in the fall. For now, I think he is use to the water enough that he won't be afraid when he goes in the pool at daycare and that was my main goal for session number one.
Other than keeping busy with him, we've still been busy getting our landscaping done and that's finally getting somewhere and starting to look really nice. The house projects are just never ending. Hope you all had a great memorial weekend and I'll update again soon.

Bad Blogger

Oh my gosh, has it really been that long since my last post? I don't know where the time goes. My days go so fast with work and then coming home to spent a little time with Cale before putting him down to bed and then down to bed I go too. Then of course the weekends just never seem long enough. I now realize how fortunate I am to be able to have one day off a week to spend with my little guy. I look so forward to our Wednesday's together. He is changing so much and getting to be so much fun. He is just the happiest little guy ever. Rolling over is now an easy task and we are working on sitting up and just in the past week he has been scooting some so I don't think it will be much longer before he's crawling too. EEKS!! What will I do then? His new sleep position is on his tummy with his legs underneith him and butt straight up in the air. It's so cute!!! I had to go in to take a picture of him the other night. We've been trying to spend more time outside on the nicer days we have but he really doesn't care for the wind or the sun too much. I guess I can't blame him as he got his mommy's skin which just doesn't get along too well with the sun. So we try and keep him in the shade as much as possible. He loves to be out on our front porch and play in his exersaucer so at least he gets the fresh air. We have been busy with landscaping the past couple weeks and now I need to get planting my flowers. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to that stuff but I think they look beautiful and wanted to give it a try so I went and bought a bunch last night. We'll see how the planting goes tonight.

Caleb had a weight check at 5 months and he was 12.6 pounds so mom was happy that he continues to grow. He goes in for his 6 month in a couple weeks to get more shots (yippy) and we'll see what he weighs then. I'm curious. He's still in mostly 0-3 month clothes but is moving into some 3-6 month things.

Well that's about all for now. I will update again soon with some new pictures.

Thanks for checking in on us. Erin

Baptism Day

Our little peanut got baptized this past weekend. It was a nice celebration and he did really well. We had a get together at our place after the ceremony and that was really nice (except for the power going out due to the wind) to have all our family and friends there. Josh's brother and his wife even made the trip from Arizona to be with thier little nephew on his special day so that was great to spend time with them too.
As you can see it didn't phase the little man too much to wear a dress for the day. With the smile we got after we put it on him I think he may have even enjoyed it. The gown he wore has lots of significants to it as it was worn by my dad, myself, my brother and sister and my nephew when we were all baptized so it was only apropriate for Caleb to carry on the tradition. Along with the gown, he wore Josh's little bootie's that he wore on his baptism day. He looked so cute!! Then to top the attire off when we got to the church, my nephew Miles handed me a gift to open for Caleb and it was a small gold cross necklace. So adorable and Caleb wore it all day.
He turned 5 months old on Saturday. It's so hard to believe that much time has already gone by. He is just sooo much fun right now. Rolling over all the time, always laughing and smiling at everybody, playing and sucking on his feet now and pretty darn close to sitting up. I don't think it will be too much longer and he will be doing that too. He is one of the happiest babies I've ever seen. We are so blessed to have this precious little guy in our lives.
