The weekend of new things........
We had quite an eventful weekend full of lots of "firsts" for Caleb. Friday afternoon I picked him up from daycare and his daycare lady tells me she thinks he's picked up my cold that I've been fighting for 2 weeks now. I told her there's no way cuz my baby is never gonna get sick (yea right huh?) I've just always dreaded that first time he gets sick so I think I was just telling myself it wasn't so. He seemed to be alright though over the weekend. We put is vaporizor on at night with some of that vicks vaporsteam stuff in it and that seemed to help him and thank the lord he never had a fever or anything. After I picked him up we headed over to my sisters new house in Hudson (they just moved in a few days ago) and grandma Sherry was there helping Kelly unpack and we took the boys (Caleb & Miles) to the park since it was so nice out. I sat on the swing and swung with Caleb. He loved it!! Then when we got home Josh and I took him for another walk around our development in his stroller. It was the first time he went for a walk in his stroller. He wasn't too happy on our walk........I think he was just hungry and tired so we got him home and fed him and put him to bed.
Saturday he had another fun day with dad. My mom, sister and I attended an all day cancer conference. For those of you that didn't know, my mom had breast cancer and is celebrating her 12 year cancer free anniversary this year so this is something fun that we've done in the past together and went again this year. The day is full of motivational speakers and hundreds of cancer survivors sharing stories with one another. It's quite an amazing event.
Today we took Caleb to church for the first time. Our church just built a new building closer to our house and just opened a couple weeks ago so we decided to check it out. It's a beautiful church and the service we went to was full of fun music with a band and singers and Caleb loved it. He just loves music and he was so good. He decided to wait until the sermon when it was nice and quiet to let one rip and fill his pants. Then he proceeded by smiling and laughing. It was pretty hilarious. I had to leave and go change him and when we got back and sat down Josh took him and said "oh he spit up, he's got it dripping off his chin". Sure enough, I had it all down my back and didn't even know it. The row behind us got quite the show and seemed to enjoy it as they were all laughing. One guy especially......as he handed Josh a note during the service that said "what a cute baby" and told us what a stud he was and that he's going to be a great hockey player someday. Pretty funny!! After church we went and picked up my nephew so my sister and her husband could go pick up some things for their new house. We went for coffee and then took the boys to visit my grandparents. They were so excited to see them both. You can all rest assure that we won't be having another one anytime soon. Man, I can't imagine. One is hard enough and I was sitting there at the coffee shop trying to figure out how I would do it by myself without another person with me at all times. Just the amount of stuff we had was ridiculous. My purse, Calebs diaper bag, Mile's little "pack" on wheels with his toys and lunch in it, not too mention a baby that's getting heavy in a carseat. Too much work for one person that's all I've got to say. It was a fun day though and Kris and Kelly were able to get lots accomplished.
Caleb is getting really good at rolling on to his side all by himself and staying there and this morning he was laying in bed with Josh while I got ready for church and he rolled over on to his tummy all by himself. Not sure if it was just a fluke thing or what but if it was it won't be long until he's doing it all the time.
I need to get ready for bed. The mornings come way to fast.
Night, Night.......Erin
